About the Department |

The Department is affiliated with the Department of Internal Medicine and mainly specializes in diagnosing and treating thoracic diseases. The attending physicians in the Department are licensed as thoracic and intensive care specialists with rich clinical experiences.
Apart from diagnosing and treating acute thoracic diseases, the Department still focuses on the prevalent thoracic diseases in Hualien, such as tuberculosis, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and cooperates with local public health units and the National Health Insurance Administration in implementing care management plans. Furthermore, the Department provides Respiratory Care Center and home services for patients with chronic ventilator dependence, which has gained recognition from the locals. |
